The word Celebrity – means a famous person, especially in entertainment or sport. Vocabulary.com explains the etymology of the word celebrity: Celebrity comes directly from the Latin celebritatum, meaning famous, and is related to the verb celebrate which means to honor something.
It is usual for celebrities to have a following of admirers, be loved by people and be looked up to. The admirers love their celebrity, feel strong emotions towards them, aspire to meet them, may follow their habits and may even adhere to their words.
On the flip side when this is taken to an extreme, they could become obsessed and fanatic, making it harmful to themselves, others and sometimes the celebrity too.
On Tuesday a fan of Yash, set himself on fire outside the actor’s house . He breathed his last in the hospital on Wednesday.
