How to move from suffering to personal growth
When life throws lemons at you make a lemonade out of it. It is easier said than done isn’t it?
What if you find that life throws lemons at you repeatedly and you find yourself in very similar situations again and again? Does your suffering and circumstances have a pattern in it?
Do you find yourself taking decisions that put u in trouble repeatedly?
Do you find yourself in unfulfilling relationships again and again?
Are you being taken for granted again?
Again been betrayed by a friend?
And I can go on and on in similar lines. And I’m sure that you have spent enough time as well as done the following enough times – blaming yourself, blaming the other, blaming the circumstances, asking questions like why me? Why does this happen to me every time?
And if you can relate to it, and are frustrated by it, then its time you look at one of the most important factors that makes this happen.
I would encourage you to ask the right kind of questions that would help you. Ask yourself what do these life situations teach me? What do I need to see that I am not seeing? What do I need to learn, which I am not learning? And I would urge you to answer these questions without blaming or judgement on anyone or anything. I call this the process of “taking responsibility”.
Remember, you can only take responsibility for those aspects which are yours. Take charge of those aspects. Learn from your life challenges, failures and suffering. By learning, by personal growth you can assign a meaning to your pain and suffering. And by learning to be better, to do things differently, by personal growth you have gained, you will have better mastery over your life.
