Can playing Video Games make you empathize with others?
We all grew up playing games in our child hood. Out door games like hide and seek, run and catch, seven stones etc, or more organized games like kho kho , kabbadi, cricket, etc, indoor games like Snake and ladders, Trade Game, ludo, chess and so on.
Games have always been a source of learning and character building. Even today experiential learning is imparted through games, activities, debates, discussions etc.
Today children and adults play so many video games with enthusiasm. There is a huge gaming community where people spend significant part of their time playing video games.
In this scenario, there is a new genre of games termed empathy games have come up, video games that attempt to make the player empathize with a situation or character in the game or to play the character to understand the challenges of the character.
So do empathy games really make the gamer or player learn to be more empathetic? What are the other aspects of these games that need to be taken for consideration?
